In early February, Beth Jacob decided against organizing a mass outdoor celebration. The goal of creating a fun-oriented Jewish communal event for thousands of people was discussed with medical advisors. This year would have marked the 30th Purim Parade down LaVista Road in Toco Hills, showcasing costumed families, stunts, scores of marching groups, synagogues, schools, and community organizations, and culminating with a festival at Beth Jacob. Simultaneously, a jokes competition and team-color shul room decoration were in play. Team members also acquired points by performing acts of tzedakah and chesed (good deeds). 18, Cholent and Chopt competition and Feb. 17, The Great Debate (BJ lawyers Moshe Goldfeder and Ahron Golding argued Shabbat sermon or no Shabbat sermon) Feb. 15 with a scavenger hunt for fifth through eighth grade girls and continued that night with a General Trivia game for families. There were competitions for all ages and abilities, facilitated through the creation of a Zoom Room. In the jovial spirit of Purim’s Hebrew month of Adar, a rollicking color-war competition was announced, and the entire Beth Jacob membership was divided into two teams, Purple Reign (chaired by Josh and Sari Joel) and Orange Crush (chaired by Shlomo and Elisheva Storch). 14, BJ congregants learned about The Adar Games. Pink and purple continuously win the color war week after week, the only medal I have won from the color war (other then coins) in the “participation award”! Nothing else! People are bandwagoning onto the pink/purple team! I not sure of a way to fix this but “this” problem is sucking the joy out of playing! Please read this, if it wasn’t for this problem I would be rating this 5 stars.Sari and Josh Joel were Color War captains for Team Purple. I chose the color green as my faction, I chose this because I wanted to be somewhat of a underdog as I thought people would choose more popular colors like red and blue (also because I chose other colors like red and blue in previous accounts) and I was right, green was not a majority. But now that I’m a little older (13) I find myself enjoying this game a lot more, and now I’m pretty far in the game. I would delete this game due to lack of interest when I was a little younger. I really enjoy this game, I’ve probably found myself downloading and deleting this app around 5 time now, but I would just keep coming back.
